4. Student cell phones should be powered off during lessons. Parent cell phones may remain on but silent. Audible conversations should be conducted outside the music room. And the use of audiovisual components of cell phones such as cameras and application features such as FaceTime, video phone calls, Facebook Lives, and Zoom are not allowed during lessons.

6. For youth beginning piano instruction, we will be using the Bastian Piano Basics series. The fundamentals of reading music, theory, sight reading, and technique will be covered. For intermediate students and adults, a variety of piano curriculum materials will be used. However, students do not have to locate and purchase instruction books and music on their own. Shavaun will obtain these as needed, and the student will reimburse her for the cost.
7.  An acoustic piano with 88 keys is recommended to practice on at home. However, a piano with at least 61 keys is adequate for a beginner. If you are considering a digital keyboard, again one with 88 weighted keys is recommended but no less than 61.
